Bradley University to Hold In-Person Commencement Ceremonies This Spring

March 12, 2021

Bradley University will return to hosting Commencement in-person this May. Six ceremonies will take place between Saturday, May 15, and Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Shea Stadium, 1523 W. Nebraska Ave, Peoria, Ill., following all State of Illinois COVID-19 regulations.

Traditionally, Bradley hosts one ceremony for all of its colleges and graduate students. By breaking the single ceremony into multiple ones over two days, the university will be able to host smaller gatherings with sufficient physical distancing. Students and guests will be expected to wear a mask and sanitize.

Each graduate is allowed to bring two guests only at Shea Stadium; however, the ceremonies will be live-streamed. Students who graduated in 2020 are invited to a special ceremony Friday, May 14, 2021, also at Shea Stadium.

“I am delighted by this announcement, it’s been a long time coming," said Bradley President Stephen Standifird. "Throughout the academic year, we have hoped for the best but remained vigilant in order to get here. I am so proud of our campus community, and I can’t wait to celebrate our 2020 and 2021 graduates face-to-face.”

Any or all commencement ceremonies may be canceled due to severe weather and/or changing State of Illinois COVID-19 regulations. Please refer to the Commencement website for the most up-to-date information.
