The annual Challenge on 74 Blood Drive between Bradley University and Illinois State University gets underway January 28. The school that collects the highest percentage of its three-day goal secures all-important bragging rights for the year and proudly displays a traveling trophy on campus. Bradley is again holding this in memory of Megan Fong, a former tennis player and blood donor.

The rivalry between the schools is anticipated to deliver winning results for patients in need. Last year was a great example of why we host this challenge in the month of January to prepare for winter donation shortages; Bradley and Illinois State University had to cancel blood drives due to inclement weather. The American Red Cross has an urgent need for blood and platelet donors of all blood types to help address a winter blood donation shortage. All presenting donors will receive a commemorative "HumanKind" T-shirt, while supplies last.
