WCBU Wins Regional Edward R. Murrow Award

WCBU has won the regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence among small market radio stations from the RTDNA (Radio Television Digital News Association).
WCBU was recognized for Overall Excellence, including the daily news magazine All Things Peoria, morning podcast On Deck, and other coverage. The station is now a finalist for the national award this Fall.

WCBU last won a Murrow in 2013, but it has never won this honor. The RTDNA first began awarding Murrows in 1971.
WCBU is the public radio station licensed to Bradley University and operated by Illinois State University's WGLT. WCBU covers nearly 1 million residents of central Illinois, operating 24 hours a day with news programs from NPR, the BBC and Public Radio International; and entertainment programs. The station is housed in Morgan Hall on Bradley's campus.
Some media in Bradley University's current print, video and online materials was acquired before the COVID-19 pandemic. Media acquired after the pandemic began was done so in compliance with Bradley's COVID-19 safety protocols at the time.
