Abstract: A story is told that follows the surprisingly complex physicochemical transformation of Ardy (RD) the raindrop as he travels from cloud to street and storm sewer to river. The effects of human activity on the environment are illuminated in typically invisible facets of our urban landscapes. The role of sustainable infrastructure design, engineering, and public policy are explored in the context of Ardy's fate and public perception.
