Bradley University’s Department of Art welcomes Cargo Space, a collaborative mobile art project, to campus this week.

Cargo Space, developed to focus on community-to-community interaction between artists, has toured the Midwest this summer engaging groups of artists – painters, photographers, writers and more – in creating art. Organizer Christopher Sperandio now has brought the Cargo Space bus to the Heuser Art Center on campus as the last stop on the tour. Starting today he will engage students and others in assembling the display of art works created by artists throughout the tour.

One of the projects the campus community has been invited to work on is an installation called Box City. Rahul Mitra, a Houston-based artist, created the work and has invited students to draw and paint on the cardboard boxes that will become part of the installation.
