Big Four Financial Opportunity

Bradley Finance major Andrew Kovacevic ’16 from Naperville, Illinois, will start his professional career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the four largest international professional services companies in the world. The prized position will be at PwC’s Chicago office.

The Big Four, which includes PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Deloitte, Ernst & Young (EY), and KPMG, are the four largest international professional services networks, offering audit, assurance, tax, consulting, advisory, actuarial, corporate finance, and legal services.

“I’m looking forward to being around people who are making important decisions that have real substantial effects on the market,” Kovacevic said.

He built his resume with internships at business hubs such as the Chicago Stock Exchange.

“I was eager to learn in important settings like that,” he said. “I was able to experience the fast-paced business world and understand how prepared professionals must be to satisfy consumers and their employers.”

Additionally, he pointed to classroom discussions that integrated policy and theory. These discussions helped him understand the rationale behind financial policy decisions.

“I dove deeper into topics through arguments and research to eventually understand why,” Kovacevic said. “I found that discussing the “why” made conversations more enjoyable and meaningful.”

Faculty interaction also impacted Kovacevic’s Bradley experience.

“The first thought I had is how much of a joy it was to have Andrew as a student,” Dr. Patty Hatfield, Stephens Professor of Risk and Finance, said. “We have a lot of good students in the Foster College, so when one stands out, like Andrew does, you know you have a special student who will excel well beyond his time at Bradley.”

“Andrew will be a great addition to PwC,” Dr. Vince Showers, Professor of Finance and Quantitative Methods, said. “Aside from the valued knowledge and skills he will bring them, his collegiality and work ethic will be welcomed attributes to the firm.”

Kovacevic hopes to one day project his knowledge on others who are as interested as he was as a student.
