Philosophy and Religious Studies

Courses in philosophy and religious studies focus on the study of texts, questions and practices that are at the very foundation of our own society and its values, as well as the values and practices of other cultures and religions. Accordingly, classes in these majors and minors tend to develop and sharpen your abilities to read, write, and think more critically. You will also learn to see a text, a question or a tradition from several sides. It is easy to combine a philosophy or religious studies major or minor—or the ethics minor—with other majors.
