Biography

Associate Professor and Central Illinois native Johanna Pershing holds an M.F.A in Technical Production from Florida State University and is a proud alum of Bradley University, where she received her B.S. in Theatre Arts. Johanna serves as Technical Director for all Bradley University Theatre productions, and she teaches courses in Stagecraft at beginning and advanced levels, Props Design, Stage Management, Special Materials, Theatrical Consulting, CAD for the Theatre, Rigging, Advanced Rigging, and Woodworking. She also administers and supervises the department’s Theatre Practicum program required for all Theatre majors and minors.

Some of Johanna’s favorite professional credits include working at Peach State Summer Theater as Technical Director; The Ohio Light Opera in various capacities such as Technical Director, Props, and Scenery; Illinois Shakespeare Festival, and Tibbits Opera House. Professor Pershing represents the Department of Theatre Arts as a member of the University Senate.
