Pack Your Bags

When you arrive in Peoria in August it will be summer and it should be quite warm (83oF or 29oC) so dress accordingly. During your academic year you will experience all four seasons (summer, fall, winter and spring – the average temperature in January is 21oF or - 6oC). You should plan to pack accordingly.

The Housing website provides good information for incoming students including a Packing List. (Remember, these are suggestions, you don’t need to bring everything on the list.)

Many international students will plan to purchase some items when they arrive in the US for the fall semester. During Move-In Weekend the Student Activities Office will sponsor shuttles to area stores on Sunday, August 25th.

You may want to have some items shipped to your residence hall. You will find information about how to address mail under the Frequently Asked Questions in the Residential Life section.
