What is the LGBTQ+ Kaleidoscope Center?
Welcome! We’re a safe space for you to meet, gather, relax, collect resources and connect with other members of Bradley’s LGBTQ+ community. Together, we foster a safe environment for individuals of all orientations and gender identities.
How can you use the center?
Visitors are welcome to study, play games, relax and collect resources ranging from pamphlets about binding safety to access to gender affirming healthcare. Enjoy free buttons and stickers, observe the rotating wall of art from local artists, or simply take a moment to breathe – There’s no one way to enjoy the center. After-hours booking options are coming soon.
What resources are available through the center?
In addition to pamphlets and information from our community partners, we’ve joined with Central Illinois Friends to offer campus wide gender-affirming health clinics throughout the semester. Stay tuned for more as we continue to expand our resources.
What safety precautions are in place?
The spaces are monitored by university staff during hours of operation.
What is the significance of the name?
The name “Kaleidoscope Center” came from the idea that different gender, romantic, and sexual identities come together to form the queer community, much like the colors and shapes of a kaleidoscope. The space was designed to be inclusive and welcoming to anyone on campus, regardless of identity, and the name was chosen to reflect that.
