Music Industry Minor

The 18-credit hour music industry minor is open to any student, regardless of major and with no audition requirement. You immerse in courses representing all facets of the music industry. Electives allow you to focus on specific disciplines or even complete this as part of the Hollywood Semester program.

Minor Requirements

Required Courses - 12 hrs.

  • MUS 101: Introduction to Music Business or
    MUS 102: Music Business for Performing/Composing Professionals - 3 hrs.
  • MUS 120: Music Industry Seminar (3 semesters) - 3hrs.
  • MUS 201: Moguls in Music - 3hrs.
  • MUS 307: Music Agency & Fine Arts Administration - 3hrs.

Elective Courses (choose two) - 6 hrs.

  • MUS 303: Music Products Industry - 3 hrs.
  • MUS 304: Music Licensing and Contracts - 3hrs.
  • MUS 312: Music in Media - 3hrs.
  • MUS 360: Introduction to the Recording Arts & Sciences - 3hrs.
  • MUS 361: Advanced Audio Engineering - 3hrs.
  • CFA 355: California Rock History - 3hrs.
